Get Rid of Mouth Blisters

mouth blisters- are small shallow ulcers (more or less painful) that appear most commonly in the mouth, also termed as – canker sores, mouth blisters, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, RAS etc. they are not cancerous and are often surrounded by an inflamed, bright red area. Some people confuse them with cold sores but that’s not right.

There can be various types of aphthous stomatitis like:
1- Minor aphthous ulceration
2- Major aphthous ulceration
3- Herpetiform ulceration
4- RAS type ulceration

Depending upon their difference in diameter, occurrence and number.
Harms Caused by Aphthous Stomatitis:
1- They are not only painful but also cause many other disappointing things like itching, burning sensation on the area they appear.
2- Discomfort in chewing and speaking
3- Painful swallowing
4- Face acne –which most people don’t know. Scar marks, face acne, bad mouth odor etc; and anything face-related can be caused by aphthous stomatitis. Above all it is always irritating to have a mouth blister, well it won’t be irritating if we knew all the causes and how to avoid them.
It’s not that difficult to know about its common causes, here are a few.

Causes:
There are not any exact causes of aphthous stomatitis; in fact it is rather a multi-factorial condition which includes:
a- Stress
b- Injury
c- Food like acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemon, oranges, pineapple, tomatoes etc).
d- It may also be caused by nutritional deficiency and impaired immune system such as iron deficiency, folic acid or VIT B12 deficiency.
e- It can also be caused by itching/ irritating mouth wear appliances like braces or dentures.
Now the question becomes how to treat it?
Well that’s not out of reach.

Treatment:
1- Generally aphthous stomatitis can go away or lessen in number/ pain within few days or in a week.
2- If they persist then your dentist may prescribe you any anti microbial rinse or solution (for example 3% hydrogen peroxide solution etc.)
3- It can also be treated with ointments.
4- Milk of magnesia
5- Antihistamine/antacid mix

More over there are few home remedies which can help you; like
1- Salt-water rinse
2- Baking soda- water rinse
3- Application of thick paste of baking soda and water on the ulcer.
4- Eat yogurt
5- Apply wet black tea bag
6- Application of vitamin E.
