Making healthy food decisions, drinking plenty of water, and getting adequate sleep are all essential tips for feeling your best. Getting less than seven hours of sleep each night is not. Lack of sleep can lead to mental issues, health issues and can take a toll on your personal appearance. Try these simple changes to make your bedroom a haven for rest and relaxation.
Tips To Sleep :
Take a Bath :
Taking a hot bath before bed can help induce sleep. This is because your body temperature has a strong influence on how fast you fall asleep. Better night’s sleep is normally proceeded by a slight drop in body temperature. Exaggerate that effect with a toasty bath or shower then lie down and let your body heat get low.
Keep noise to a minimum :
If you can’t avoid or eliminate noise from barking dogs, traffic, or other people in your household, try masking it with a fan, recordings of soothing sounds, or white noise. Spa music or anything without words can be gently played through your stereo.
Sleep in a dark room :
Invest in black out curtains or blinds to keep your bedroom dark while you sleep. Eye masks can also be helpful to block out light. Eliminate electric clocks, laptops, cell phones and bright lights in the bedroom as they can disrupt our sleep cycle significantly impacting on how well rested we feel in the morning.
Practice meditation :
Even following all of the above tips, sometimes still have difficulty falling asleep, because our mind is racing. Practicing meditation helps alleviate this by calming our mind and helping to bring us into a state of tranquility, thereby relaxing our body as well.
Television can be a distraction :
When you lay down at night to go to sleep, you want to avoid having any distractions in the room which may keep you awake. If there is a show on television which you enjoy watching, your mind can become distracted from sleep as you get caught up in the plot of the television show.
